Iron Man 2 is a 2010 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Iron Man. This high-powered Marvel sequel is once again directed by Jon Favreau and it takes Tony Stark’s story to the next level! With new enemies, upgraded tech, and rising tensions, Iron Man 2 dives deeper into the price of being a hero. Robert Downey Jr. brings the swagger and vulnerability once again as Stark faces not just a dangerous new villain in Whiplash (Mickey Rourke), but the government, his own mortality, and a legacy he’s still trying to define. In Iron Man 2, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) has revealed his identity as Iron Man to the world—but being a public superhero comes with consequences. As the government pressures him to hand over his technology, Tony struggles with the deadly effects of palladium poisoning from his arc reactor.
