It all began with the race to be the first in line — the first entrant to be greeted by the Concours Chairman and the first to pull onto the competition field of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. For years, beginning in the early 1970s, that entrant was Don Williams, the concours’ most prolific entrant. "Dawn Patrol" at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is an exclusive event that takes place before the main show. It allows a select group of early-bird attendees to view the cars on display in a quieter, more intimate setting, often as the sun rises. This special opportunity gives participants a chance to appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of the classic cars with fewer crowds and at the best light of the day.
