What is MRI CV Junction? Brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with CV (craniovertebral) junction with contrast produces an image of the rear of the head, the foramen magnum (hole at the base of the skull), the first two cervical vertebrae, and the surrounding soft tissues. Why is it done? The doctor orders this test to diagnose cranial nerve and vertebral artery disorders and identify the origins of congenital anomalies in children. What is the procedure for the CV Junction MRI Screening Test? The MRI radiologist will explain. How does one prepare for the test? Notify your technician of metallic implants such as surgical staples, clips, or pacemakers. You may also need to remove metal objects such as jewellery or watches. If you are pregnant, notify your technician, as radiation may harm the baby. Aftercare: No care is required.
