Are your toes weak? Likely yes if: You see a big callus on the middle of your forefoot (e.g. your transverse arch is collapsed), or if You have plantar fasciitis, metatarsal pain, bunions & hammertoes Check yourself - do your toes crinkle up when you try to push off your forefoot (like mine do)? Find a counter and lean into it - push off on one foot like you’re walking and look at your toes. If they’re crinkling, you can probably use this! With this exercise we’re going to work on rebuilding your toe strength and getting a more functional transverse arch. Here’s what to do: Sit down. Push your little toes straight into the ground - don’t let them crinkle. Push until your toe knuckles lift up & hold. The goal is to create a dome through your forefoot & midfoot - with straight toes! If this cramps, it’s a sign it’s a great exercise for you. Like all foot work, the more you do, the faster & better results you’ll get. My personal plan is to do this 3x daily and work up to 20 good reps on both feet Once I can do that, I’ll load it more by lifting my heel as I maintain my arch. Then eventually do it standing - and THEN I’ll work more on my push-off mechanics. Because my feet are a long term project! Want more?
