A visit to one of Breda’s most significant World War II memorial sites: the Panther D Tank and the Polish Monument at the edge of Wilhelminapark. This tank, a German Panther model D, was gifted to Breda by Polish liberators in 1945 as a lasting reminder of the city's liberation on October 29, 1944, by General Maczek's 1st Polish Armoured Division. Also featured is the solemn 'Polish Monument', unveiled on October 29, 1949 a stone obelisk crowned with a bronze bird spreading its wings, symbolizing freedom and sacrifice.
