Clare crosses the Grand Harbour by boat and heads to Birgu for the launch of Heritage Malta’s Calendar of Events—a reminder that our cultural heritage is alive through exhibitions, talks, and experiences for every age. Inside the Inquisitor’s Palace, she visits “Hats Off!”, a charming 20th-century hat exhibition (plus one 19th-century top hat) featuring 13 men’s and 13 women’s hats, Maltese/English labels, makers, and quirky local names like in-nofs tomna and il-lobbja. Expect feathers, hat blocks, pins, proverbs—and a peek into the textile archives. Open until 28 February 2026. --- Find out more about The Local Traveller on Facebook: www.facebook.com/thelocaltravellermalta Instagram: www.instagram.com/thelocaltraveller_malta ---- The Local Traveller follows Clare Agius as she explores Malta and Gozo in search for their many hidden gems.
