CLASSIC BREAD PUDDING INGREDIENTS 8 c. day old bread-cubed 1 tsp. cinnamon 8 eggs 1 c. sugar 2 ¼ c. milk ¾ c. melted butter 1 ½ c. heavy cream 2 tsp. vanilla DIRECTIONS Place cubes in greased 13” X 9” X 2” baking dish. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, butter, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour evenly over the bread. Bake uncovered. Bake: 350 degrees 40-45 minutes Sauce: Bring 1 c. sugar, ¼ c. water and 1 tbsp. lemon juice to a boil Reduce heat to medium. Cook until sugar is dissolved and mixture turns a golden amber. Stir in 2 tbsp. butter until melted. Add 1 c. heavy cream. Remove from the heat. Serve with bread pudding. NOTES Insert knife in center of pudding. When it comes out clean, pudding is done. Let stand for five minutes before cutting. Be patient when it comes to stirring the sauce to a golden color. This will take 5-10 minutes.
