Darband is located at an altitude of 1711 meters above sea level and is the beginning of one of the main ways for climbers to climb Central Alborz. The kiln starts from Darband and ends at the Twin Waterfall and Shirpala Shelter. A river called Darband River passes through Darband village. In 1987, a flood hit the river, which destroyed the Tajrish Bazaar. The main valleys of the Darband River are the Osun Valley, the Abshar Valley, the Imamzadeh Ibrahim Valley, the Kak Valley, the Shirdareh Valley, and the Zon Valley. Darband Street starts from 1611 meters in Quds Square and ends at 1811 meters in Sarband Square (mountaineer statue). This statue was made in 1341 by Reza Lal Riahi, an Iranian sculptor and painter, and then installed. The idea of building this statue in 1337 was suggested by Hassan Vajdan Khosh, a mountaineer with an Iranian background. Colonel Bayat, head of the Army Mountain Training Center, made arrangements for its construction, and Maham, the then mayor of Tehran, accepted the cost of building the statue. Then, Amir Shah Ghadami, the army sergeant and mountaineering instructor of the Mountain Training Center and the ski instructor of Iran, was introduced as a model to Reza Lal Riahi, and the municipality paid 11,000 Tomans for the construction of the statue. In 1338, a year after the proposal was made, the gypsum model was prepared and installed in Sarband Square, but it was raining and icy in the winter of that year that shattered the hand and part of the statue. This part was covered with the Iranian flag for a long time until in 1341, with the follow-up of the then president of the federation, Reza Lal Riahi, he prepared a cement statue that this statue is still standing.
