The spark for Slow It Down came at the very first moment of 2026. On New Year’s Eve, after the midnight bell had rung, I was celebrating with my husband and my youngest adult son. In that quiet, joyful moment, my son asked me what my New Year’s resolution was. I paused, smiled, and shared what I like to call my “anti-resolution”: my plan is to live in every second, every minute, every hour, and every day — and to slow it down. As I said it aloud, I thought, “Hmm… slow it down. I think I could write lyrics about that.” The idea lingered through the night, and the next morning, on January 1st, 2026, I sat in bed with my thoughts and let the words flow. Within an hour and a half, the lyrics of Slow It Down were born — a simple, heartfelt reminder to pause, breathe, and truly be present. This song isn’t about stopping, quitting, or slowing your dreams. It’s about slowing down within the moments of life — whether you’re creating, building, working, or loving. It’s about taking the time to enjoy the process, to soak in each second, to find joy and presence in every day. Life is short, and the beauty of it lies in how deeply we experience it — in the pauses, the quiet reflections, and the mindful breaths we take along the way.
