This caused USA subscribers with Netflix to prematurely celebrate before realizing that the streaming rights to Studio Ghibli are currently owned by HBO Max. Others found themselves confused regarding the streaming state of the studio behind Spirited Away, How's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke, because they figured the work of Hayao Miyazaki would be available on Disney Plus instead.
