PoliScan FM1 Photo LiDAR vs Best Radar Detectors from Escort, Uniden, and Valentine 1

We test the best radar detectors against the Vitronic PoliScan FM1 scanning Photo LiDAR, an extremely difficult to detect (let alone jam) speed photo enforcement system being deployed in Maryland. In late 2022. 90 PoliScan FM1 systems have been deployed throughout Maryland under a 10-year contract with Vitronic. These systems can enforce speed, redlight running, and do ANPR. They are capable of monitoring multiple lanes and direction of travel. We test the best laser detectors (radar detectors) against the Poliscan FM1 to see which ones can alert to it. We tested the following radar detectors: Escort MAXcam 360c Escort Redline 360c Escort MAX 369c MkII Uniden R8 Valentine V1 Gen2 In addition we were driving with an Adaptiv TPX laser jammer. Unfortunately, our videos of the Valentine V1 Gen2 did not record properly (no sound). Even so, we report the Valentine surprisingly did not alert in any event, either direction. The radar detector that performed the best was the Escort MAXcam 360c. The Uniden R8 and Escort Redline 360c performed similarly. The Escort MAX 360c MkII did not alert in any event, like the V1 did not.
