Wahine soccer opens camp as reigning Big West champs

After a milestone season in 2024, the University of Hawai‘i women’s soccer team opened training camp on Tuesday, two weeks ahead of its 2025 season opener, aiming to build on the momentum of its first-ever Big West regular season title. Led by longtime head coach Michele Nagamine, now entering her 14th season at the helm, the Rainbow Wahine return 20 players from last year’s title-winning squad, including key standouts like Big West Goalkeeper of the Year Kennedy Justin and All-Freshman Team selection and Midfielder of the Year Nalani Damacion. “I was thinking this morning about where we used to be and how it was just all summer long, just really anxious about what are the players doing? Are they taking their fitness packet seriously?” Nagamine said. “I actually slept really well last night.
