In this early access gameplay preview video I'm going to highlight how I build the foundations of an early civilization using Provence as my starting point. I'll introduce you to the early mechanics, concepts, and focuses as you start out in EU5. Part gameplay preview, but with tips and tricks along the way, here's a hopefully fairly basic introduction into the expansive world of EU5! I've played a lot of strategy games - including grand strategy like Victoria 3, but Europa Universalis is a series I have less experience with. This LONG awaited sequel feels somewhat familiar to me after putting hundreds of hours into Victoria 3. I get Crusader Kings 3 vibes from time to time as well. The scale of EU5 is very wide reaching. It starts in 1337 and stretches through to 1836. In this video I'm strictly focused on the earlier decisions and gameplay mechanics, so Ages 1 & 2 will be the focus. I'll also highlight EU5's extensive help, tips, and automation system. The latter acts as a really useful way to balance parts of the game that you either 1. don't understand, or 2. aren't focusing on right now. I also wanted to make sure I highlighted how to get started in war & combat, so I've included a section towards the end of the video showing how to wage war in EU5 incase your early game is a little more hectic than mine!
