Start discovering the attractions by visiting the Neo-Gothic Parliament - the country's largest building, built on the basis of Imre Steindl's plans, and also included in the UNESCO world cultural heritage list. Heroes' Square - built for the millennium celebrations in 1896 - is one of the symbols of Budapest. It houses 14 statues of historical figures, and at the top of the central column is the statue of Archangel Gabriel, who won the Grand Prize at the 1900 Paris World's Fair. In the Buda Citadel Quarter (Budai Várnegyed), the observation decks of the Fisherman's Bastion (Halászbástya) offer an unparalleled panoramic view.
