Harp in a Giant Redwood Tree: 1 Hour Healing Music | Sarah Bhalla

There is no feeling like being in the forest among the giant ancient redwood trees. The air shifts, like you’ve stepped into a world outside of time. Coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) are the tallest beings on Earth and some of the oldest, living over 2,000 years. This beautiful tree endured a severe fire that hollowed out the inside. Redwood bark is incredibly fire-resistant; if enough of the tissue remains, the tree will heal and thrive. This incredible living being draws many visitors each year, and I felt so humbled to be here, to meet both locals and travelers who love this forest. Many come here routinely to walk among the trees, to feel a connection, and to find healing. A few wonderful animals call the forest home, and some even sang along once the music started. Listen closely and you’ll hear owls and the playful Steller’s Jay. To sit within this towering Redwood and feel the harp’s sound vibrate through the tree, it’s hard to put that into words. There was a deep presence in those moments, shared with the many beautiful souls I met here. This lives close to my heart, and I’m grateful to share these moments. All of the music is improvised and includes a melody that came to me as a child.
