A combination of bad business decisions, bad timing and then a recession certainly didn't help the Saturn Car brand. All of those factors contributed to the Saturn car brand being terminated sooner than expected. General Motors owned Saturn. Saturn was an optimistic car brand that attempted to be different. Initially, they aimed for the Japanese auto manufacturers, like Honda and Toyota. Saturn produced efficient, practical and affordable cars. At first, Saturn launched with the S-series. This included a sedan and you could also get a wagon and a coupe. The coupe was known as the SC-coupe. Saturn started out with unique products. Their cars were not simply badge engineered cars from various GM divisions. But over time, their cars became less and less unique and eventually, the Saturn lineup was simply reduced to rebadged Chevys and Pontiacs.
