On our trip to Spain in November/December 2024 we made the hike up to Castillo Santa Bárbara in Alicante Spain. The castle is right on the coast and easily accessed from the city center. There is no entrance fee but if you go up by elevator it is a small fee. Going down on the elevator is free. Unfortunately we did not see the elevator entrance and walked up. It had beautiful views but it is quite a hike. We spent about 3 hours at the castle.
