Demo PowerHA for IBM i Geographic Mirroring

PowerHA SystemMirror for IBM i provides a solution for all environments, large or small. Steve Finnes will start with ann overview and Allyn Walsh will run the demo, which will focus on Geographic Mirroring, one of the replication technologies for PowerHA. GeoMirror is most often implemented when using internal disk and is a good fit when storage requirements are under 2 or 3TB. With this option, IBM i is doing the replication. Much like traditional disk mirroring, Geomirror extends every write to both the local storage and the remote site. This demo will show how easily the PowerHA for i cluster can be setup and managed. We will see both a planned role swap, which is moving the workload to a backup node at your discretion, or in the event of an unplanned outage automatically switch the workload to the designated HA or DR backup node.
