A Raleigh nonprofit is using cardboard to change lives, and with support from NCCF, they’re giving hope to families with special needs across North Carolina. Through more than $40,000 in grants from the North Carolina Community Foundation and its affiliate foundations, Made4Me is delivering free, customized adaptations for individuals with disabilities, from adaptive beds and chairs to easels, steps, ramps, and more. Made4Me uses industrial cardboard to create safe, personalized tools at no cost to families. NCCF’s support has helped the organization expand into 13 counties in central and eastern North Carolina, including underserved rural areas. “What NCCF allows you to do is make relationships…I don’t have the capacity to write hundreds and hundreds of grants [applications],” says Made4Me Executive Director Mike Gianakos, “but I do have the capacity to work with a small group of like-minded people who can get our name out there and help counties connect with us.” Learn more and support their work: Made4Me: https://made4me.org/ North Carolina Community Foundation: https://www.nccommunityfoundation.org/ #nonprofit #charity #NCCF #NorthCarolinaCommunityFoundation #CommunityImpact #Made4Me #SpecialNeedsSupport #InclusiveDesign #CardboardInnovation #DisabilityAdvocacy #WakeCountyCommunityFoundation #NCPhilanthropy #NonprofitGrants #NorthCarolinaNonprofits #RaleighNC
