Welcome to Come Study With Elder Brock. In this episode we study Deuteronomy chapters 4 through 6 — the heart of Moses’s covenant message before Israel enters the Promised Land. These chapters call God’s people to remember what the Lord has done, to stay faithful, and to pass truth to the next generation. Deuteronomy 4 teaches that Israel must not forget the Lord’s mighty acts. Moses warns against idolatry and reminds the people that God’s commandments are wisdom, protection, and covenant identity. The Lord brought Israel out of bondage to make them His covenant people. Deuteronomy 5 renews the covenant by repeating the Ten Commandments. This isn’t just law — it’s relationship. The Lord delivered them, and He calls them to worship Him alone, honor His name, keep His day holy, and live with integrity toward family and neighbor. Deuteronomy 6 gives the great covenant center: “Hear, O Israel.” Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and strength. Teach these words diligently to your children. Talk of them in daily life. God’s people remember, love, and live the covenant — not only in public worship, but in the home.
