Usually presents with chief complaint of abdominal pain and is often diagnosed by CT of the abdomen/pelvis 3. Hospitalization is indicated 60-80% of patients improve with an IV anaerobic cephalosporin (cefoxitin or cefotetan) with doxycycline or using clindamycin and gentamicin 4.
