The joy of observing and enjoying the beauty of nature in its most pristine forms is what motivated Arun Krishnamurthy to found the Environmental Foundation of India. In this captivating talk laced with engaging anecdotes he takes us through a journey exploring the Indian water conservation practices that were employed in the past. Over the course of 10 years Arun Krishnamurthy has helped clean up and restore more 39 lakes in the country. His efforts has inspired countless students to volunteer and contribute to environmental restoration. He is also the recipient of numerous awards like the Rolex awards for Enterprise in 2012, Google’s social impact award in 2011. Arun Krishnamurthy is an Indian environmental activist and conservationist who has initiated the campaign of cleaning various lakes across India. He is known for founding the NGO, Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) in 2011 after quitting a promising career at Google to follow a dream of rejuvenating the environment around him, and has inspired communities to restore their polluted urban lakes. He is also the recipient of numerous laurels such as the British Council International Climate Champion Excellence Award and the Rolex Award for his groundbreaking work in environmental conservation.
