I take a peek inside and break out the oscilloscope for a closer look… ↓↓↓ Complete description, time index and links below ↓↓↓ Some weeks ago I did overhaul my Proxxon BFW 40/E spindle motor (link below). But I couldn’t open up the power supply, because of some darn security screw. Meanwhile my Chinese friends came through and sent be the appropriate bit. So I took it apart to find, well, more dirt (which I cleaned of course) and a very simple but surprisingly effective SCR circuit for regulating the spindle speed.
