Hello everybody, I've notice that the Zeus vanguard have a sort a "trekkie" aspect. So, I'm thinking of switching the paranid fleet to beams ("phasers"), at least in regard of M turrets. And if I made the switch for the capital ships, I've decided to give to the interceptors as well, the "beam" treatment, with 2 beam emitters + 2 burst ray. Conclusions: given the "all for one and one for all" tactics of our interceptors, the beam works well. A weapon that never misses, has a certain appeal. as we well know, the Ares is not the best interceptor, so faster fighters, with beams, have the potential to perform a lot better. Maybe I will repeat the test with a Theseus wing I've tested "off screen" the weapons ability in an anti capital role, and despite the burst emitter being described as a weapon design to take out surface elements of capital ships, I did not seen such effect. Well no biggie, we habe BM for that. :) Full beam on all M turrets for the entire paranid fleet coming soon. I don't expect them to do much in dmg, but with fighters performing interceptor and bomber role, they will not have to. So, it will be a trade, betwin bolt turrets that do dmg, but miss a lot, or beam that never miss, but have joke dmg.
