A Crisp Acrylic Smile Line | Back To Basics Nail Sculpting

Hi YouTube Jay took the time to join me on my Stoke-On-Trent Back to Basics course in April and today we’ve got a video showing you how to sculpt an Acrylic Smile Line You can join me on my next course in Stockton On Tees, 26th June 2022 : https://bit.ly/38jb4W8 I’m going to start with my form and I’m using my forms which have foil in the centre to hold the shape. I’m going to remove the length from my forms and pop the tab across that opening to fit the form to my model's flat nail. I’m then going to roll the form into shape. I'm going to start with a clear base and then the smile line, placing the bead on the contact area and creating a wall where I want my smile line to be. The better this wall is, the less filing I need to do later. I'll then fill in the rest of the natural nail, creating my apex at the same time. I’ll test pinch the nail with my finger and once it’s firm but a bit bouncy I’ll test with my pinching tool and once I’m happy I’ll apply the tool. Once that section is pinched, I'm going to file the current "free edge" so my smile line it super sharp and then I'll go on with the white and sculpt out the rest of my nail. I'm going to pinch that section too. Once the nail is set, I’m going to file my side walls, then the cuticle area and free edge. I’ll them file flat up the sides and check the barrel of the nail for the thickness of the nail. I’ll then marry the top together to have a continuous thickness. I’ll then adjust my apex and buff over the entire nail. I’ll finish the nail with top coat. I hope you enjoyed this video, don’t forget to like, subscribe and all that shebang.
