Let's start our journey from Givon Square, just 100 meters away from Sarona. On Fridays, you can experience the bustling Flea Market here, offering a variety of antiques ranging from coins to clothing. What used to be a parking lot has now transformed into a square with fountains, comfortable seating areas, underground parking, and secondary exits from all cafes located on parallel streets. Plans for the next 5 years include enhancing the facades of surrounding buildings, further adding to Tel Aviv's charm and appeal. Originally built in the 1950s as a transport hub, the square underwent renovations in 2016, turning it into a lively public space. Continuing on our route, we come to the Sarona neighborhood, situated at the heart of Tel Aviv and one of its fastest-growing districts. It emerged on the site of a former settlement of German Templars founded about 150 years ago by Messianic Christian Templars who came to the Holy Land from Germany to await the Second Coming, pray for its speedy arrival, and bear witness to it. Today, Sarona stands as one of the city's newest leisure destinations. Sarona boasts a trendy covered market where you can purchase Israeli cheeses and cured meats. Renowned chefs in its restaurants prepare unique dishes using seasonal ingredients. Lively bars offer cocktails and craft beer, while a 19th-century Templar cellar houses a fashionable wine bar. The remarkable blend of old two-story houses and modern high-rises, along with cobblestone streets, creates a nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of Tel Aviv from the early 20th century. Sarona's history predates Tel Aviv's founding, dating back to 1871 as a settlement of German Christian Templars. This historical gem amidst skyscrapers has been restored and adapted for modern city living. Fast-food eateries, fresh seafood delights prepared before your eyes, boutique shops for every taste, houses with verandas and wings, and a park with preserved old trees offering plenty of shady spots and comfortable benches, including musical ones, invite you to relax and enjoy a leisurely stroll. 00:01 - Givon Square 08:10 - Sarona quarter Don't forget to leave your comments below this video, like, share it with friends, and subscribe to my channel to catch more exciting videos about Tel Aviv!
