Day 1 – Eastern Sierra Overland Adventure: Coyote Flats Join us for the first leg of our Coyote Flats overland adventure in the heart of the Eastern Sierra Nevada. We begin the journey in the high desert outside Bishop, California, weaving our way through sand and sage before climbing rocky trails that rise steadily toward the alpine. The road carries us up from the desert floor to nearly 8,000 feet of elevation, where the landscape transforms. Juniper, pine, and granite boulders replace the open desert, and we find our first camp of the trip tucked into the classic Sierra scenery. Along the way, we take on the challenges of rough terrain, shifting conditions, and the constant search for that perfect spot to call home.
