Everyone has at least once in their lifetime stood in front of a mirror in a gym, or during their childhood days in the playground - imagined themselves as boxer Rocky Balboa whilst skipping with a rope... And talking of Rocky... do you remember when he would shout - "Adriennnnnnn!" after winning his fight at the end of the films? Well, we have a feeling he may not have actually been referring to his wife in the films, but was calling on the Incredible skills of 'Adrienn' Banhegyi - the Hungarian-born Super-Skipping Mrs Miyagi and the incredible 'Sensei' of the Skipping world! And she's not your average performer as you can see from the cool video above... The World Champion jump roper has skipped rope for almost half her life. She first got into the sport through her father — who always strengthened the importance of physical fitness. She's won three world championships and five European championships during her time with the National Skipping Team. After seeing Cirque Du Soleil on TV, Adrienn knew right away that was meant for her and so she sent a video demo in 2005, and ended up auditioning in France. A few years later, she began training in Montreal and joined Cirque Du Soleil's Wintuk in November 2010 in New York City and is still touring with them to this day. She is now skipping rope in Cirque's Quidam production across North America and beyond. With her jump rope performance, she reveals the endless possibilities of how to use a simple and cheaply available tool in the most creative and fun way, as an inspiration for all ages. Adrienn also gives workshops all over the world, to children, adults, athletes, and future rope skippers, to help them find a great way to keep fit, improve their concentration, coordination, and to discover some of the most creative, simple and effective ways of exercising. So what are yo waiting for?? Go grab a skipping rope and get your skip on... and feel free to share your own progress to us via Facebook or Twitter.
