We leave Pelham, Alabama and start heading north, knowing this trip is more than just miles on the odometer. With wheel-hub-deep dirt a real possibility, Ange threads the needle and gets Addie parked safely — a moment that perfectly sets the tone for the entire journey. From there, the roads only get tighter. Rural backroads, limited shoulders, and turns that demand full attention lead us toward our next overnight stop at a Harvest Hosts winery in South Carolina. Navigating those final miles — narrow lanes, close trees, and zero room for hesitation — felt like a test designed specifically for a first trip.
