The Rise of Fascist films in India has been an interesting phenomenon that not only indicates the fragility of the ruling government, but perhaps something deeper in our collective consciousness. A refusal to talk about issues we consider taboo, and a desire to sweep everything under the rug is like trying to force a lid onto a boiling, overflowing kettle. Punjab 95, Phule, Santosh, these are just some of the movies that have been delayed or banned intentionally by the current government, and institutions that have been compromised and capitulating with fascism.
