As Mamata Banerjee stunned the Opposition INDIA bloc when she announced she would go solo in the Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal, the Congress on Wednesday said an alliance without the West Bengal Chief Minister "cannot be imagined". The party also described the Trinamool Congress (TMC) as "a strong pillar" of the Opposition bloc.
