Fly over the five key holes of the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles

Sam Torrance selects five holes which he thinks show off Gleneagles at its best - and where the drama will be played out. With the Ryder Cup starting on Friday, The Telegraph sent its drone camera over the key holes at Gleneagles and asked one of Paul McGinely's assistant captains, Sam Torrance, to talk us through them. We start at the first, where there will be so much tension - and noise - early on Friday morning, then over to the ninth, halfway through the course, which the Scottish Ryder Cup winner sees as a signature hole here. The drone takes a trip down the home stretch: holes 16, 17 and 18 where we expect to see so much drama this weekend. It remains to be seen whether the competition at Gleneagles can match the miracle of Medinah in 2012 - where the European team pulled off an unprecedented comeback against their American rivals. Mr Torrance, who sank the winning putt in the 1985 Ryder Cup, says that the final hole, Dun Roamin', is: "is a difficult shot anyway, regardless of the pressures of the Ryder Cup. "If you miss the green short left or short right it is not too difficult but if you go for the back pin and miss the green you are going to be left with an extremely difficult pitch." He adds: "What a way to finish." Get the latest headlines http://www.telegraph.co.uk/ Subscribe to The Telegraph http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c...
