My hobby is repairing electronics. Part 1… of probably 2 parts. I want to build a better, less expensive, but high-quality light for micro-soldering surface mounted devices (SMD) and other projects. There are very good options out there, expensive lamps with all the features you could want. But I love DIY projects and saving money. What kind of electronics enthusiast would not want to make something custom. I am going to use the word bespoke, because it sounds expensive. I go over the issues with most digital microscope lamps and the glare and cost that comes with them. The solution is building a lamp that has 2 dimmable LED spotlights on goosenecks that I can move anywhere on my desk. I want something that will last and is repairable.
