What is Interstitial Cystitis?

Have you ever been diagnosed with Interstitial cystitis? Interstitial cystitis, also known as bladder pain syndrome, is defined as a chronic condition that affects the bladder and is associated with symptoms such as persistent pelvic pain and difficulty urinating. Given the symptom overlap between UTI and IC, and the inadequacies of UTI testing, there is much discussion around whether IC may actually be a chronic UTI in many cases. There are also many other under-diagnosed pelvic conditions that could be causing the symptoms attributed to IC.
