M-84 Main Battle Tank | A parallax of soviet tank series

The concept of M-84 MBT is based on Russian T-72 tank with improvements in systems and properties like new modern Fire Control System, upgraded engine and increased armor, while retaining main properties of base T-72 tank from the Soviet era, including 125mm caliber gun, automatic gun loading, reduce weight, low profile. A number of improvements over the original tank have been incorporated to meet the requirements of the Yugoslav Army, now Serbia. It resembles the T-72 only in outward appearance. There are minor differences in the external features of the turret, with a bank of six electrically operated 81 mm smoke grenade dischargers on either side of the turret, absence of infrared searchlight, and a meteorology sensor pole on the forward part of the turret roof to the immediate rear of the 125 mm gun. The M-84A, which appeared in 1988, has a computerized fire-control system, ballistic data sensors, and a day/night sighting device incorporating a laser range-finder and second-generation image intensifier. In addition to the new fire-control system, the M-84A MBT has better armor protection and numerous other improvements including a V-46TK V-12 diesel developing 1,000 hp which gives a better power-to-weight ratio than that of the T-72 and therefore superior mobility. M-84 is further modernized to M-84AS, M-84AS followed by M-84AS1 Main battle tank and M-95 Degman. it is in service with Kuwait Army, Serbian Army, Croatian Army, Slovenian Army, Bosnian army. . . . . .
