In this slow living video, we welcome the turning of the season with quiet, comforting rituals: • Baking the Christmas cake, slowly and by hand • Making brownies for the children • Knitting soft headbands for frosty days ahead • Tending the garden and planting bulbs for spring It’s a time of gentle preparation — of making, tending, and savouring the calm before the festive rush. A reminder that even in the darker months, there’s beauty in the slow, simple rhythm of home. 🕯️ Thank you for being here. Until next time, Lucy x Discover: Christmas cake recipe https://www.recipetineats.com/christm... Chocolate brownie recipe https://www.nigella.com/recipes/brownies My Cosy Headband Pattern Materials: 1 pair 10mm (US15) needles Tapestry needle Scissors 1 x 100g ball super chunky yarn e.g. Rowan Big Wool Size The ideal way to size the headband is to wrap it around your head and the ends should meet. The headband should feel comfortably snug. The Cosy Headband is knit flat in garter stitch (knitting every row) and is finished by sewing the two ends together using a tapestry needle. With 10mm (US15) needles, CO 12 sts using the long tail method. All rows: K11, bring the yarn in front, Sl 1 P-wise. Repeat the row above until piece measures the desired length based on the wrap test. Cast off using the regular bind off method, leaving a 12" / 30cm tail. This tail will be used for joining the two ends of the headband. Weave in the cast on tail. Sewing the headband 1. With the right side facing up, pinch the ends of the headband together. 2. Interlock the pinched ends as shown in the video. 3. Make sure all four folded edges are neatly lined up. 4. Sew the folded edges together using the tail left when binding off. Turn the headband so that the right side faces out. #slowliving #simpleliving #cosyhome #baking #knitting #winterpreparations #christmascake #happinessisalifestyle #slowlivingvlog, #englishvillagelife, #cosyautumnvlog, #englishcountryside, #autumnslowliving, #homemakingvlog, #cosycooking, #familyautumndays, #cosyhomevlog, #englishlifestyle #slowlivingengland, #mindfulliving
