The all new Radical no doubt is exactly that, all new. The new no doubt core is defined as being super symmetrical to maintain axis rotation longer and it more continuous through the pins. Then on the outside is The HK22+ pearl cover which is derived from the formula used on the Max bias, but in a pearl form finished to 1500 compound out of the box. So for the layout, I went with a 5x5x3 2LS layout. The most important thing here is the 3" pin to CoG distance which should promote an earlier start to the roll phase. This one should have no issue getting down the lane, so the layout aims for that earlier roll to manage this ball's potential for a strong backend reaction. AND ON THE LANES…the No Doubt does what it promises to do. It's rare for a ball to maintain axis rotation this well, which means it creates a unique shape that, when matched up, will out-carry most of what's one the market today, a feature that's very reminiscent of the legendary Storm Hyroad. And that's my favorite part about throwing this one. The simple truth is that there aren't many pieces on the market today that can do what the No doubt does. When this shape matches up, its carry potential is likely to be unmatched because there aren't many other options that can do what this one does. That's normally something we see out of niche pieces like the aforementioned Max Bias, but the No Doubt is much more usable than that. However, there's a catch. If you Miss your line, you're likely paying a steeper penalty in that you're probably going to leave splits instead of makeable spares. This unique shape caused by the ability to maintain axis rotation means the No Doubt can get a bit sideways downlane providing a higher risk to reward ratio than some other symmetrical pearl options. So to offset that weakness, I'd recommend pairing this one with the new Radical Zig Zag Solid as well as the Track Stealth Hybrid. The No Doubt will be the weakest of these 3 options, but all three provide a similar transition from hook to roll while maintaining with their own set of unique characteristics. Bowlers looking to put the power in their hands to bowl high scores will love the versatility provided by this set of 3 options Jumping to our crossbrand comparisons, I first took a look at the Storm Phaze a.i and here I see a piece with a more traditional look during its skid, hook and roll phases. The Phaze a.i is one that carries a similar risk reward ratio to the No Doubt, but speed dominant bowlers are more likely to see great results out of this one from Storm. Then I took a look at the Motiv Supra G.T and here I see a piece that has a a bit less cover strength, but more importantly, the way the core spins up is much different. This one likes to stand up and get into the roll phase early to control friction, making it more usable for bowlers who like to keep their angles in front of them, especially those with a lower ball speed and rev rate. But with that, here’s my recommendations on types of bowlers that I think would match up well with the Radical No doubt. The first is low axis rotation bowlers. Because the no doubt does so well in maintaining its axis rotation, those that struggle with getting around the ball will see some of the best shapes out of it. The No Doubt will be a great option for these players to control the cliff of oil on a traditional league oil pattern, especially during the back half of a league night. The second recommendation is for rev dominant bowlers. As a rev dominant bowler myself, the no doubt seemed to have its best look when my angles were a bit more shallow through the front part of the lane. Most other symmetrical pearls require me to circle the lane with big angles, but this unique shape gives me a different way to get to the pocket when compared to most other options available today. The all new No Doubt from Radical might not be the greatest option for all types of players, but in the right hands, could be the one that leaves you with no doubts about your good shots striking.
