Hi! This week we're finallyyyyy starting to feel like this project is moving along. We apply epoxy primer to all the sanded & bare metal rust areas on the van. We used a Harbor Freight HVLP paint-gun for this. We also apply some seam sealer where it had to be ground out due to the rust. And finally start spraying some raptor liner as well. For the raptor liner, we also used a Harbor Freight HVLP paint-gun but drilled out the tip to be 1.98mm using a 5/64 drill bit (I think from the box, it has a 0.6mm tip). The order of events we followed was: Clean van with wax and grease remover Apply epoxy primer. Let cure for 24 hours Apply seam sealer where required. Let cure for 30 mins Apply epoxy primer but thinned out more to act as epoxy sealer. Let cure for 30 to 60 mins Apply raptor liner. Let cure for 30 mins then remove tape lines / plastic while still wet The timing between applications of paint is important. We followed the directions on the epoxy primer we used. If you are within certain time frames, you don't have to sand in-between coats which is such a time saver. That's kinda it for this video! Next week we finalllyyyyyy start bondo work and spraying raptor liner. We've included a list of products we used below (for the entire paint job, not just this video). Hope this is helpful to you if you are doing a similar project! Or just hope you enjoy the process if you're just watching for fun :) Leave any questions in the comments!
