How strong is an IKEA LACK floating shelf on plasterboard ??

When customers ask me to fit a floating shelf on drywall I generally tell them NOOOO!! Drywall just isn't capable of supporting the large leverage forces that get applied though the bracket - fine for light things like ornaments but if you want to use these shelves for really heavy books you're going to run in to problems. The official IKEA specs say no more than 5kg on plasterboard but I wanted to put together a quick test to see what they can actually withstand given worst case scenario of a point load right at the frong of the shelf.
