His father, Bitam, was a Howletts-born silverback, sired in the wild, and a leading figure in the European breeding programme. Bitam fathered many prominent offspring at Howletts, including Biju, Tamba, Ambam and Oumbi — making Biju and Oumbi half-brothers (same father, different mothers). Biju went on to Japan, where he sired Momotaro. This makes Oumbi the half-uncle of Momotaro. Momotaro later sired Gentaro, making Gentaro Oumbi’s half-great-nephew.
