A few months ago, through a friend, I was introduced to this style of Christian singing, a perfect way to sing the psalms (and possibly other songs in the Bible). As I had long wanted to write music that would make it possible to sing the psalms, I was extremely enchanted by this musical style, even though it is extremely simple compared to the cantatas, oratorios, hymns and other songs that already exist in the Christian repertoire, this style opens up the possibility and, frankly, the practicality of writing a short but beautiful song for each psalm in a way that preserves the text in its natural state. Moreover, this style maintains a degree of practicality for a congregation to sing, even if they have no musical training. It's like a treasure I've discovered (although it's been practised in the Anglican tradition since at least the 18th century). Songs for the use of churches to sing the Psalms. If interested, these songs will be completed with 43 more songs and then published for purchase. The Partimento that makes up these songs (this and the other Videos) is extremely simple (even its name is questionable) but for those who want to see a Partimento that serves its real pedagogical purpose, click on the link below: • Fenaroli Partimento N. 1 realized by Fabio...
