My 6x6 portal-axled Volvo C304 leaves a trail of portal oil everywhere she goes! Let's get the portals out, get them clean, painted, looking fresh and fitted with some fancy new silicone CV boots. (not sponsored) Tools used: 1/2” spanner for drain plugs 27mm spanner (I don’t have the correct imperial size) for axle filler plug 24mm socket for wheels nuts 7/16” spanner for brake line brackets 19mm socket for steering bar (I don’t have any imperial sockets) 11/16” spanner for hub nuts Hammer Chissel Steps: 00:00 - Intro 00:42 - Lock the front differential 00:53 - Crack off the filler plugs 01:38 - Remove the wheels and brake hub 01:49 - Drain the portal and diff oil 02:36 - Remove the brake line brackets 03:31 - Remove the steering bar 04:15 - Remove the hub from the portal 10:54 - Remove the portal from the axle 17:48 - Clean and prep the portal 23:53 - Replace the CV boot 28:48 - Repeat the steps in reverse to re-fit! 31:50 - Test drive
