#sindhi #sindhisamaj #sindhusamaj #sindhicommunity #sindhiculture On the occasion of the monthly community meal organized by the Sindhi Council of India, Mr. Ashok Lalwani, President of the Sindhi Council of India (North India), told reporters that all governments have promised the Sindhi community of India that they would help preserve their vanishing culture, language, attire, food, etc., but they forget their promises as time passes. The Sindhi community has been demanding a separate Sindhi state since the partition of India and Pakistan, inclusion of a Sindhi state tableau in the Republic Day parade on January 26th, and a public holiday on the birth anniversary of Lord Cheti Chand. Granting a holiday on the birth anniversary of Lord Cheti Chand, which coincides with the first day of the Hindu New Year (Vikram Samvat), would be politically beneficial for the current central government, as it would bring joy to the entire Hindu community, including the Sindhi community. He further added that now all members of the Sindhi community have set aside their internal and political differences and united under the banner of Lord Jhulelal. To show their protest, they appeal to the Sindhi community to organize processions with tableaux of Lord Jhulelal and his flag in front of their temples, shrines, gurdwaras, panchayats, and social and non-social organizations on every January 26th and on the birth anniversary of Lord Cheti Chand (Hindu New Year, Vikram Samvat), and to hoist the flag at their homes on the same day. On this occasion, Mr. Gopal Devnani, a banker and former member of the Sindhi Academy, said that the name Hindustan comes from the Indus Valley, so until a Sindhi state is formed, the central government should build a Sindhi Bhavan so that the Sindhi community can preserve its vanishing culture, language, attire, food, etc., there.
