THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WOMEN GOD IS LOOKING FOR | SUNDAY SECOND SERVICE | MAKE JESUS FAMOUS

Sunday 8th March 2026 The Bible speaks of many great women whom it calls us to emulate. Below are some of the characteristics of women who bring glory to God: 1. Wise Women Proverbs 14:1 The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands. Every woman has influence; therefore, she needs wisdom on how to use that influence. Otherwise, she may end up tearing down rather than building. Take the example of the woman in 2 Samuel 20 who saved an entire city with her wisdom by calming down Joab, who was determined to destroy it. Another example is Abigail in 1 Samuel 25, who calmed David’s fury and prevented him from shedding blood that could have cost him his kingship. May God endow women with wisdom that will save their families, workplaces, cities, marriages, and communities. 2.A Generous Woman 2 Kings 4:8-12 The woman referred to in this scripture received a son because of her generosity—she opened her house to a true man of God. The Bible also speaks about another woman, Dorcas, whose body the church refused to bury because of her good works and charitable deeds. The disciples sent for Peter and showed him the tunics and garments she had made while she was with them. Because of this testimony, she was raised from the dead. We must be women of good works and deeds. Remember, generosity is not limited to finances; there is always something to give besides money. 3.Women with A Gentle and Quiet Spirit. 1 Peter 3:1-4 One of the ways of preaching the gospel is through good conduct. We must ask God to give us a gentle and quiet spirit that goes beyond physical appearance. 4.Women Who Put God First The Bible talks about Mary in the book of Luke, to whom the angel appeared and announced that she would give birth to the Messiah. Despite being betrothed to Joseph, Mary kept the matter in her heart and did not explain it until she was found pregnant. At that point, God Himself defended her before Joseph. We must be women who do not compromise but put God first above everyone else. 5.Women of faith The women mentioned in Hebrews 11:35 were women of faith who refused to allow things to die in their hands. One of the marks of women of faith is that they continually judge God to be faithful to do what He has promised. Take the example of Sarah, who trusted God and was able to bring forth her child. Life has a way of shaking us, but we must hold on to what God has promised.
