HTTP Requests in Crestron SIMPL Windows

This is a topic that I see confusing a lot of programmers who are used to sending strings at things via RS-232. I created this video to clearly explain what an HTTP request actually is, how it differs from an HTTPS request and then demonstrate how to control some functions of a Roku player via HTTP from SIMPL Windows. Example code for this project and other Overworked logic videos available for free at https://owl.proavschool.com Additional Note - I didn't think of this until I was uploading the video, but if you want to experiment with HTTP control of AV devices, I would highly recommend picking up a a cheap 1080p Roku player, they are available everywhere. I didn't have to do any configuration at all (other than joining my wifi network) to be able to send HTTP commands to my device in the example.
