Buddy Rich 1980 Ludwig Drumset-Ken Loomer Part I

This is my Buddy Rich Ludwig Drumset which is the correct size and features that Buddy Rich used with his Big Band back in 1980. Buddy began this endorsement deal with Ludwig back in May of 1978 to December of 1981. In the book by Rob Cook"The Ludwig Book",it states that these drums were made from 1978 to 1980. When Bill Ludwig the II sold the company to Selmer, Selmer decided not to renew Buddy`s contract with them,a big mistake. Buddy did play Ludwig in 1982 until he found a set of Slingerland Radio Kings drums he loved and played that from 1983 to 87. Ludwig made great drums and these sound so wonderful. Ludwig back in 1980 made these drums at the Chicago factory. All drums had the 6 ply maple shells and of course the famous white marine pearl finish to them. In part one,I go into detail about these drums and the changes Buddy made from the catalog drumset. In part two I will be playing these drums up-close. Also,I have used these drums with my Ken Loomer Big Band. If you want to hear them with a Big Band,put in Ringing Museum Ken Loomer Big Band concert and some video`s will show up. Great that Ludwig has for 2017 a Buddy Rich model drumset to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth. Thanks to his daughter Cathy Rich, Buddy`s great Big Band and music has lived on since his passing in 1987. I`m sure Buddy would be so happy that one of his fans has done the hard work of putting together a Big Band to make sure this great artform is still alive today. I always honor Buddy by playing some of his music and of course like Buddy,I always want to play new charts and letting the people of today hear this great form of jazz music.
