043 COVENTRY BASIN ON OUR NARROWBOAT AND GEORGE JUMPS SHIP

In this vlog we travel from Hawkesbury Junction to The Coventry Basin and back up to the Ashby Canal. This section of the Coventry Canal was the dirtiest we have seen on our Narrowboat travels to date so it was quite an experience. It was great to stay in the basin just outside the centre of Coventry with excellent access to the shops and there was lots of touristing to be done in Coventry itself. Our trip back up from the Basin to the Ashby Canal was quite eventful, with George our Springer Spaniel getting up to lots of mischief and deciding to make a leap for freedom from the moving Narrowboat onto the tow path. There mush have been the scent of Pheasants in the air as once we were moored he took off across a couple of farmers fields. There were no animals grazing as if there had been we would have had him on a leash. The Ashby canal is a peaceful change after the noise and business of The City of Coventry.
