So you think you Church? Not until you Sunday School at St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic! People ask me what I do at home and what I do with videos I take. The night before, I stayed up until 4am playing Fortnite drinking energy drinks and woke a few hours later. I set up my laptop to play Ben Hur: Tale of Christ (Reaction video coming soon) but it was quickly hijacked by Fornite renegades. Finally, we're watching Ben Hur. We're at the famous chariot race and the kids go crazy at Messala's demise. They think his name is Sextus and are very mature about it. Then we go practice singing a rendition of Stevie Wonder for a Mother's day. A kid who likes running out of class says he has to "leave early..." Yeah right! But his responsible sister was there so I believed him. Her presence reminded me of intercession and why Apostolic Churches pray to Saints and Angels. After answering random questions about meaning of life, atheists and suicide, it was time for Sunday School English Mass. Fr. Park is all about 'Love' and gave a homily based on that. During the Sign of Peace, he goes around and gives everyone the sign of peace, which is awesome. He asked one of my students who he loved and he replied "Your MOM!" I never thought I"d meet a real life 10 year old X-box gamers but here they are in full effect. Food is offered during the school year after Korean and English Mass. Today's special was Seolleongtang (설렁탕) aka Ox-bone soup, which was a nice change of pace from the regular food. Costco pizza is served 3 Sundays a month along with Korean food. After Sunday school, there is Korean language and culture class. After all said and done, I went home and heard a song about Faith without works. My neighbors dog came over. He or she was covered in mud but I have no problem with that or dog slober. I slammed another energy drink and played Fortnite until it was time for bed. I've only been playing for a few weeks so I can't be addicted...right?
