Writer, editor and curator Gayatri Majumdar published critically acclaimed The Brown Critique – a literary quarterly and e-zine – for over two decades (from mid-1990 onward). It featured hundreds of poets and writers, both new and established. In 2018, Gayatri began to curate poetry/music festivals in Pondicherry/Auroville and Ramgarh in India. The first day's event of Pondicherry/Auroville Poetry Festival 2019 ("Earth consciousness") was held on December 13 at rustic Kalarigram in Auroville, India.
