This is a follow-up to my self installed air source heat pump in my solid stone Welsh cottage:    • Part 1/2: How I fitted an Air Source Heat ...   UPDATE: since filming this video I've updated the firmware on my ASHP which enabled PWM circulation pump control, this has enabled my circulator pump to modulate down when there is low heat demand. This has allowed the system to run with a lower flow temperature, resulting in an even higher SCOP of 4.4 for 2023-2024. The section is this video about increasing the flow temperature to increase the COP can be ignored, this is no longer the case with PWM pump control. Although, there will always be a minimum flow temperature which is required to dissipate the minimum modulated heat output of the heat pump. Generally, trying to run a flow temperature of less than 30C with radiators will result in excess cycling and inefficacy. UFH heating can be run lower.
